Parenting After Parting

We understand how feelings can run high where children are concerned, how uncertainty can breed insecurity, and how words can be used that may be regretted later. Our objective from the outset is to equip you with the information you need to make the best parenting arrangements for your children, and to use our skills and experience to help you develop a workable parenting relationship that continues beyond your divorce, dissolution, or separation.
This starts from our first initial meeting where we can talk through all the options and advise you on the best, most constructive route forward. This may be possible through one-on-one discussions with your ex-partner, family mediation, or through negotiations between lawyers.
What now? How to parent after parting
Once the agreement has been made, it’s important for everyone involved that the arrangements are adhered to as this will help your child to adjust to the new circumstances. For advice on how to help your child when you separate, please visit our blog.
As members of Resolution, our family law team are committed to helping families resolve issues in a constructive manner. We believe that families should be supported and encouraged to put the best interests of any children first. Research has shown that Resolution’s ‘Parenting after parting’ workshops, with their child-centred approach, have been most helpful for children.
